Swansea is a picturesque, seaside town in southeastern Massachusetts. It’s a suburban community only 14 miles southeast of Providence, RI. Swansea was first settled way back in 1662. This part of New England is rich in colonial history.
Providence has undergone many improvements in recent decades, attracting new residents and even greater tourism to the area. As a result, many job opportunities exist within a short drive of Swansea. Cape Cod is about the same distance away (or “the Cape” as they call it here), with its miles of quaint coastal towns and beaches. Crime is quite low in Swansea, it’s a very safe place for seniors or to raise a family. For fans of the New England Patriots NFL dynasty, Foxboro is only 35 miles away! Top notch colleges like Brown University are nearby as well.
